Many customers struggle with this question when planning to purchase a photocopier machine, keeping in mind that a good photocopier machine is a large capital investment. Before deciding on a photocopier, it is critical to understand the differences between brand new, used, and refurbished photocopiers.
USED PHOTOCOPIER MACHINE
A used copier is a scenario similar to the popular used Ex-Japan cars in Kenya. It is essentially a functional photocopier that has been resold or returned to the supplier for a variety of reasons, including the owner’s desire for an upgrade, the expiration of a lease on the photocopier machine (the most common scenario), and many others. It does not refer to a photocopier machine that has reached the end of its useful life. Like a used car, most photocopiers have counters that detail the number of pages the photocopier machine has run since it was manufactured. Most machines have very low counters in comparison to the manufacturer’s recommended useful life.
REFURBISHED PHOTOCOPIER MACHINE
A refurbished photocopier machine is one that has been rebuilt or restored to its original condition. Let’s use a restored car as an example. When someone decides to restore a car, it is usually because they have a sentimental attachment to that specific make and model. They could be taking a classic they found in a junkyard and restoring it to its 1970s glory. Copiers are no exception. A ten-year-old copier may be obsolete, and while you may be able to obtain parts for the machine, you may pay a higher price than necessary. A refurbished photocopier machine, on the other hand, could be a used machine that has been stripped down and most of the parts replaced with new ones. OPCs, transfer belts, gears, covers, rollers, sleeves, and other photocopier machine replacements are the most common. When a used photocopier machine is refurbished with brand new components, the customer may pay a premium over a used machine with basic technical service.
BRAND NEW PHOTOCOPIER MACHINE
Brand New photocopiers are simply those in which the buyer is the machine’s first owner since its manufacture.
