You have to conduct some careful troubleshooting when your office printer seems to pick and choose which of your papers to process and which to leave unprocessed in order to determine why your hardware is suddenly acting up. Examine the projects you’re attempting to print, as well as your gear and print settings, to identify the cause of “selective output.”
Memory
If your printer struggles to print the files you send it, the amount of memory the machine has available for spooling and processing documents may be to blame. In contrast to inkjet printers, which depend on the computer to which they are connected for their memory needs, laser printers frequently come with installed (and occasionally upgradeable) memory. Print failures are one of the signs of a memory-starved print operation, including jobs that appear in your print queue but stay there or disappear from it before reaching paper. These issues may be resolved by upgrading the RAM in the host computer to which you are connecting the printer.
Print Queue Status
The status you’ve given the queue that controls the printing of your documents may be to blame when it begins to act like a trap and doesn’t let any jobs pass through it. You might have unintentionally stopped the entire print process if you’ve opened the queue on your screen to delete a project that you printed by mistake. No documents will print after the queue goes into pause mode until you return it to active mode.
Project-Related Problems
Printing a multi-megabyte document that includes a large number of embedded graphics or other file-enlarging assets takes longer than printing a one-page letter with only text. A truly massive document may seem to halt in the middle of printing as your computer and printer work together to process the document’s substantial amount of data. Similar to this, a document that becomes corrupt can hang up in the middle of printing, leaving no pages behind. Printing a big file in sections or a problematic file from an earlier version will allow you to check the integrity of your printing procedure.
Printer Driver
By pressing a few keys on your keyboard, you can see perfectly shaped pages emerge in the output device’s tray thanks to the driver software that mediates between your operating system and the printer. Reinstall the driver software if it’s not working properly due to a drive crash or other issue, or if you’re trying to use a driver that’s incompatible with any element of your setup. This will allow your computer and printer to communicate with each other again.
