Before you start cleaning the ink bays, get your tools prepared first to work efficiently. Get paper towels to place the ink cartridges on. This decreases messes from leaks. Fold one or two paper towels in half twice, then pour the water over the paper towels in half twice, then pour the water over the paper towels and five or six cotton swabs. Squeeze out most of the excess.

Get your equipment ready so that you can operate effectively before beginning to clean the ink bays. To set the ink cartridges on, get paper towels. This lessens mess caused by leaks. Fold one or two paper towels in half twice, then cover them with water while also covering five or six cotton swabs with the water. Most of the extra should be squeezed out.
- Cleaning the Ink Bays
First, use a paper towel to wipe the ink bay. For the corners, use cotton swabs to scrape away any sticky or hardened ink. If extra swabs and paper towels are required, moisten them, and clean the ink cartridges as well.
